The Award is further endorsed by the Association of British Investigators Academy.

The exams were completed inside the Civil Service Club, Great Scotland Yard, Westminster, London SW1A 2HJ – the building was the original home of the Metropolitan Police and the first “Scotland Yard” – sending out the first plain clothed detectives and forming the original C.I.D for London. The Met Police still use the original stable block, next door to the CSC for their mounted operations.

Back in 2006 The Security Industry Authority (S.I.A), worked with Skills For Security and developed National Occupational Standards for private investigators. Richard Newman, then the President of the Association of British Investigators, chaired the panel that put those standards together.

The completion of a historical paradigm – tradition, history and excellence

Richard Newman happens to be the Internal Verifier / Quality Assurance Assessor for Private Investigator Training UK.
